Setters Celebrate Senior Day with Win over Franklin Pierce

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. –  In an afternoon filled with the celebration of Pace field hockey's graduates, the Blue and Gold earned a 4-0 win against Franklin Pierce University. Four different Setters scored in the victory to help improve their record to 9-5 overall, and 6-3 within the Northeast-10 conference.

Here's What Happened
  • The Setters wasted no time in the contest as two seniors contributed to the opening goal after Krista Dietz found Jenna McCrudden at the four-minute mark. Pace was strong right out of the gates tallying eight shots in the first quarter.
  • In the second quarter, defender Enya Manzanera celebrated her first career goal off an assist from Patience Mares. Heading into the half, the Blue and Gold possessed all the momentum with a 2-0 advantage over the Ravens.
  • Coming out of the half, both defenses flicked the switch as neither side found the back of the twine until the 40-minute mark. After a pile-up in the crease, Dietz snuck a shot into the back of the net to push the Setters ahead 3-0. Just two minutes later, Nadia Pavlik scored her first collegiate goal and point giving Pace a 4-0 advantage which held the rest of the way. On a special afternoon for the team, Pace came away with a 4-0 win in front of their home crowd earning their ninth victory of the season.
