PLEASANTVILLE, NY - Pace Women's Soccer hosted a non-conference match up with Roberts Wesleyan University (RWU) Tuesday evening at Northwell Stadium.
In the event, the Setters posted a first half goal and it would be the lone point to see the scoreboard in the night for the 1-0 victory over the Redhawks.
Here's What Happened:
- After the initial kick off, both teams combined for four shots to ignite the brisk evening contest. The Redhawks put the Setters on their heels leading in the opening shot statistic, 3-1, however, Pace took one more shot after RWU's third and it propelled the hosts in front.
- Keely Donovan tallied her first goal of the season when she tapped the ball to the left side of the net for the 1-0 advantage. The junior's goal would be the sole point to be put on display.
- Anna Fiore was put to work in net when the Redhawks tallied eight of their 14 shots in the second half of play. Despite their opponents having the hot foot, Fiore maintained her ground and clinched the shut out win.
Box Score Insights:
- Donovan posted two shots in the night, including her goal, while Taylor Moyer led the Setter offense with three shots.
- Hannah Rautenstrauch and Alyssa Cabral posted a shot each.
- Fiore snagged eight saves in 90-minutes.
- Pace may have been outshot 14-7, but the blue and gold were accurate with five of the shots being on goal.
