PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Pace volleyball handled business during an in-conference match-up against Franklin Pierce University on Saturday morning. Behind a season-high 15 kills from
Karielys Melendez, the Blue and Gold won three straight sets on their home court. Following the victory, the Setters improve to 6-6 overall, and 1-1 in the Northeast-10.
Here's What Happened
- The Setters kept the Ravens in check from the first point of the contest. After capturing the lead 2-1 Pace never surrendered the advantage the rest of the way coasting to a 25-17 win in the opening set. The duo of Abby Robertson and Melendez combined for nine kills in the set.
- Despite an early lead from Franklin Pierce, set two was a similar story for Pace. A 10-2 run from the Setters fueled them to a 25-11 win and moving into set three the home squad held the momentum.
- In the final set, Pace held a 13-10 advantage at the midway point. The Ravens battled to cut the deficit to one point, but a 3-0 push gave the Setters a six-point lead near the end of the set. The Blue and Gold held on 25-22 to earn their sixth victory of the year.

- Melendez led the offensive barrage for Pace posting a season-best 15 kills and six aces. The sophomore has found her stride in recent performances as she is currently on a three-game streak of double-digit kills.
- The main facilitator in the win was Lexi Zammit as the freshman setter produced a career-best mark of 33 assists on the day. In addition to her impressive assist numbers, Zammit had two kills and three aces.
- Robertson also recorded a season-high in kills with 12. As a team, the Setters registered 43 kills compared to the Ravens' 26.
Volleyball returns to the court on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. with a road match-up against Caldwell University.
