Dietz's Hat Trick Leads Setters to Impressive Win Over Saint Michael’s

COLCHESTER, VT. – Behind Krista Dietz's fourth hat trick of her career, Pace field hockey earned a commanding win against Saint Michael's, 8-2. Four goals in the final quarter made the difference Saturday afternoon, as the Blue and Gold improve to 7-5 overall, and 4-3 in the Northeast-10.

Here's What Happened
  • Katelyn Fairhurst kick-started Pace's offensive display with a tip-in goal only four minutes into the contest. Ella Tamweber increased the Setter's lead to two five minutes later capitalizing on a cross-crease pass from Dietz.
  • Saint Michael's took the next goal before a scoring drought ensued until the third quarter. The Purple Knights evened up the game, 2-2, early in the second half but the Setters had a significant amount of offense left in store.
  • Carlotta Oschmann and Jenna McCrudden scored back-to-back goals in less than two minutes to give Pace control 4-2 moving into the final quarter.
  • Late in the fourth, the Blue and Gold added to their goal total with Fairhurst opening the floodgates to make it 5-2 Pace. Following Fairhurst, Dietz dominated the remaining time tallying three goals in less than three minutes. After her late hat trick, the Setters closed out the final minutes to solidify their seventh victory of the season.
