Manchester, NH – Ciara Collins' career-high 19 points helped secure the Pace University Women's Basketball team's 12th win against Saint Anselm College, 68-59. Following the victory, Pace improves to 12-4 overall, and 6-4 in the Northeast 10.
It was a close battle between Pace and Saint Anselm in the first half as the score was within one possession, 29-28, entering the third quarter. Arianna Stockinger poured in nine first-half points including two difficult makes at the end of the opening quarters as the clock expired.
The Setters opened the second half with an authoritative 14-0 run to give them a 15-point lead, 43-28. Saint Anselm struggled to find momentum in the third; knocking down just three shots in the quarter the Hawks trailed Pace 34-49 heading into the final quarter.
Saint Anselm made a final push in the closing minutes bringing the score to within nine, 60-51. Despite the run from the Hawks, Pace would hold the lead for the rest of the way defeating Saint Anselm, 68-59.
Collins continues to improve in her second year, as the sophomore tallied a career-high 19 points on 5-9 from the field and 2-2 from deep. Stockinger boasted her all-around production with 17 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks. Tower Lorde posted another double-figure game, scoring 11 points to go along with six rebounds.
On the night, Pace made fifty percent of their shots and had their most efficient three-point performance of the season, hitting 4-8 shots from downtown.
The Setters return to The Goldstein Fitness Center Saturday afternoon for another in-conference match-up against Bentley University.
