WORCESTER, MA. – A historic defensive performance from the Pace University men's basketball which featured holding Assumption University to 21.1 percent from the field and a mere 13 field goals to earn a 66-47 win.
Pace improves to 10-4 overall and an NE10 mark of 6-2.
At the halfway mark of the first half, the Setters grabbed the lead off a jumper in transition from
Chaz Harvey to take a 16-14 lead and that lead would never return to the hosts. By the time the two teams returned to their locker rooms for halftime, the Blue and Gold owned a seven-point lead, 27-18 while only allowing five field goals.
The Setters created the space they desired right out of the gate, firing off a 13-6 run that featured six points from
Jaden Kealey, three from
Jabari Nurse, and two from
Bryan Powell and
Jamaal Waters.
After that, it was
Marc Dadika's turn, who rattled off five straight points of his own off an and-one and a layup to grow the Setter's lead to 43-29 and the rest was history.
It was an all-around effort this evening, with Harvey leading the way with 11 points and seven rebounds. Nurse and Dadika also finished in double figures with 11 and 10 points of their own respectively.
