WORCESTER, MA. – The Pace University Field Hockey team suffered a 1-0 setback on the road in Northeast 10 play against Assumption on Saturday, 1-0.

Pace returns home for its next contest, with Mercy University coming to Peter X. Finnerty Field on Wednesday.

The lone goal came in the first 20 seconds. After the Greyhounds drew a penalty corner, May Van Woudenberg got a shot past Celeste Pagliaroi for what would develop into a game winner.

In the second quarter, Noëlle Meij did get a shot on goal, but the Greyhounds goalie was there to make save. Meij got another look in the third quarter off a penalty corner but was once again saved.

The same opportunity presented itself to Meij in the final five minutes of the fourth quarter, but it was once again denied by the Greyhounds.
