PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University women's lacrosse team had five players pick up Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) yearly awards, announced by the association Thursday.
Grad student midfielders Aleya Corretjer (Thiells, N.Y./North Rockland) and Kayla Conway (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh), as well as junior midfielder Angelina Porcello (Eastchester, N.Y./Eastchester), were named to the IWLCA First Team. Grad student midfielder Emma Rafferty (Bay Shore, N.Y./Islip) and junior defender Alexandra Quinn (Eastport, N.Y./Eastport South Manor) were both named to the Second Team. All five were named to the IWLCA All-Region First-Team.
Corretjer had a huge season for the Setters, breaking the single-game, single-season, and all-time assist records in 2023. On the year, she has 51 goals and 59 assists for a single-season program best 110 points. She has picked up 23 ground balls on the year, along with eight caused turnovers and 15 draw controls.
Conway is second on the team in goals with 61, while also adding 16 assists for a total of 77 points. She leads the team with a .560 shooting percentage and is third on the team with 92 draw controls this year. She has also collected 36 ground balls while forcing 32 turnovers and has scored five game-winning goals this season.
Porcello is fourth on the team with 73 points, registering 55 goals and 18 assists this year. She leads the team with 125 draw controls and has a .505 shooting percentage. Porcello has also been a force on the defensive end, leading all Setters with 59 ground balls and 51 caused turnovers.
Rafferty set a new single-season program record this year, as she currently leads the team with 78 goals. She's also added 17 assists to give her 95 points on the year, good for second among all Pace players. She has a .510 shooting percentage, 22 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers while scoring six game-winners so far this year.
Quinn has been a strong player on the defensive side for the Setters, as she currently ranks second on the team with 105 draw controls. The junior is fourth on the team in ground balls (33) and caused turnovers (28), while also scoring one goal and adding two assists this season.
The five award-winners have been key players in Pace's successful season, which has led the team to the NCAA Semifinal. The Setters will face off with Florida Southern College Friday, May 19 at 7:30 p.m.
