PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Entering the day as one of the hottest teams in the country, the second-ranked Pace University women's lacrosse squad earned an 18-7 win over No. 19 Saint Anselm College on Saturday. The decisive victory improves the Setters' record to 11-1 overall this season, including 8-0 inside the Northeast-10 Conference.
WHAT IT MEANS
Pace has now won nine straight games, including the last six by at least 10 goals per contest. In fact, the Setters are now ranked fifth in the country in scoring margin (9.5) this season. The Blue and Gold have outscored their opponents, 213-99, across 12 games. Â
MILESTONE SATURDAY
Within the victory over Saint Anselm, a pair of Setters posted terrific individual achievements. Graduate student
Aleya Corretjer's (Thiells, N.Y./North Rockland) five assists on Saturday puts her at 35 this year, which is now Pace's single-season record. She had already set the Setters' career mark earlier this spring.
Also, on the offensive of the ball, junior
Angelina Porcello (Eastchester, N.Y./Eastchester) registered four more goals to eclipse 100 tallies for her career. She is just the fifth Setter to reach triple figures in career goals.

Nine different goal-scorers and 10 total assists highlighted an extremely balanced attack for Pace versus Saint Anselm.
Corretjer's seven total points and Porcello's four goals led the way while
Kayla Conway (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) and
Emma Rafferty (Bay Shore, N.Y./Islip) joined in with hat tricks of their own. Rafferty also recorded a pair of assists.
Senior
Jolie Urraro (Sayville, N.Y./Connetquot) served as Pace's final multi-goal scorer, finishing the day with three points on two tallies and an assist.
Defensively, the Setters piled up 15 caused turnovers while posting an 18-9 margin in draw controls. Sophomore
Alexandra Quinn (Eastport, N.Y./Eastport South Manor) finished with a game-high 10 of those draw controls.
Freshman goalkeeper
Samantha Tanguay (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) remained unbeaten this season (9-0), finishing the afternoon with three saves and two goals-against in more than 36 minutes of action.
