Brandon Powell Named to NABC All-District Second-Team

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Senior guard Brandon Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Pine Bush / FDU) of the Pace University men's basketball team was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II All-District Second-Team Monday.

Powell had the best season of his collegiate career, averaging 16.4 points per game and 5.0 rebounds, while adding 50 assists, 49 steals and 13 blocks. The senior had seven games in which he scored 20 or more points and had three double-doubles on the year. He had his best performance February 21 against Franklin Pierce University, scoring 44 points on 14-of-21 shooting, while tying the program record with 11 made three pointers in a game. He also added 10 rebounds and a pair of steals on the night.

Powell played in all 31 games for the Setters this season, helping Pace reach the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season, marking the first time the program has made the tournament in two straight years. Powell's play also helped the Setters reach 20 wins in back-to-back seasons for the first time in 31 years.
