@PaceWBB Loses On The Road To Saint Anselm 74-64

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- The Pace University Women's Basketball squad lost 74-64 on the road at Saint Anselm on Wednesday night in NE10 action in Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.

Setter graduate student guard Lauren Hackett (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's) led Pace with 14 points. Hackett shot 6-for-12 from the floor, 2-for-5 from three-point range. Junior guard Shanice Sinclair (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) and sophomre forward Arianna Stockinger (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Putnam Valley) scored 10 points each.

Saint Anselm opened up an 18-10 lead in the game's first eight-plus minutes with six Hawks posting points in that span. The advantage grew to 38-21 with 2:26 left in the first half, thanks to a quick 9-3 scoring spurt that eventually led to a 40-26 lead at the break.

The hosts put the game away in the third quarter, scoring 16 of the game's 25 points at one juncture, to create a game-high bulge of 19 points. Pace scored a game-high 21 points in the fourth quarter, limiting Saint Anselm to just 16 points, but two 20-point quarters in the first half secured the win for the Hawks.

With the loss, Pace falls to 8-14 overall, 5-10 in NE10 action. Saint Anselm moves to 10-11 overall, 6-9 in the NE10.

The Setters are back in action at home on Saturday, Feb. 4 for a 1:30 contest against Southern Connecticut State at Goldstein Fitness Center. Pace will welcome back all basketball alumni to the NE10 doubleheader.
