PLEASANTVILLE N.Y. -- Wednesday evening, the Pace University Women's Basketball team prevailed, 60-51, in a hard-fought matchup against Adelphi University. 

The Setters supplied an all-around team effort to improve to a perfect 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the Northeast 10 conference. Pace grabbed an early 14-13 lead in the first quarter and never looked back holding the advantage over Adelphi for the rest of the game.  

After hitting three shots from long range in the first quarter, the Blue and Gold took a seven-point lead into the second quarter. They would continue their success to finish the half taking a nine-point upper hand into the next half, 30-21.  

The second half showcased a controlled Pace team that kept the visitors in check. Despite several runs from Adelphi in the second half the Setters never let their lead shrink below five points.  

In the final quarter, Pace hit 41.8% of their shots from the field compared to Adelphi's mere 23.5%. Six fourth-quarter points from Shanice Sinclair would help propel the Setters over the Panthers 60-51. 

Coming off an All-Rookie season last year, Ciara Collins continues to take a step forward for the Setters. The sophomore forward matched her season-high in points (11) and rebounds (6). 

Arianna Stockinger and Sinclair also added 11 points each on the night. Stockinger brought down her first double-double of the season while matching her career-high in rebounds with 11.  

After another solid victory, Pace now travels to Saint Michael's College Saturday afternoon for a 1:30 p.m. tip-off.
