PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. –
Andrea Flores and
Hannah Rautenstrauch netted second half goals to send the Pace University women's soccer to a 2-0 victory over the College of Staten Island on Wednesday evening at Northwell Stadium.
With the win, Pace improves to 6-4-1 on the year. Conference play resumes at Franklin Pierce University on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Pace was in control of the first half but could not get a shot past the Dolphins goalie. It wouldn't take long in the second half for the Setters to score.
Anna English sent a ball to Flores who buried a shot from outside the box to the far post to give the Setters a 1-0 lead.
Rautenstrauch netted her first collegiate goal in the 72
nd minute off an assist from
Alyssa Cabral.
Pace dominated all facets of the match, outshooting the Dolphins 25-2 and 12-1 on target while taking seven corners compared to CSI's four.
Anna Fiore and
Annabella Cole split time in the net for the Setters, with Cole presiding over the first 45 minutes while Fiore closed the contest. Cole posted the lone save of the evening for the Setters.
