Arianna Stockinger (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Putnam Valley) recorded a double-double as she scored 23 points to go along with 10 rebounds in a 70-54 victory at Adelphi on Tuesday night to ring in 2023 at Adelphi's Center for Recreation and Sport. Along with Stockinger, junior guard
Shanice Sinclair (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) scored a season-best 17 points and freshman forward
Ciara Collins (Bristol, Conn./Bristol Eastern) added 12.
Stockinger shot 9-for-14, 4-for-5 from the 3-point line. Sinclair went 8-for-9 from the floor.
With the win, Pace has won the last five consecutive games, dating back to Dec. 9. The Setters record is 6-7 overall, 3-4 in the NE10.
Pace shot 61.5 percent in the first quarter, 8-for-12. For the game, the Setters went 28-for-56 for 50.0 percent shooting.
The Setters hit on three consecutive buckets in the final 1:18 of the half -- including a buzzer-beating shot by Stockinger -- to take a double-digit lead into the break, 35-24.
Adelphi (6-6, 3-4 NE10) shot just 33.9 percent for the game overall, 20-for-59.
Up next, Pace will travel to Syracuse, N.Y. to face NE10 foe Le Moyne on Saturday, Feb. 7. Tip time is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Ted Grant Court. Le Moyne has also won the last five games. The Dolphins are 10-4 overall, 5-3 in the NE10.
