LAKEWOOD,
N.J. – Sparked by their highest hitting percentage of the season, the Pace University volleyball team tallied a 3-0 (25-15, 29-27, 25-20) sweep at Georgian Court on Tuesday night.
It was a balanced attack that ultimately accumulated the Setters' .282 hitting percentage against the Lions. In fact, four different members of the Blue and Gold registered at least seven kills in the win.
Senior
Brielle Jones (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Palm Beach Gardens) led the attack with 11 putaways, while
Georgette Cosentino (Scarsdale, N.Y./The Ursuline School) dished out a team-high 35 assists.
Jones also chipped in eight digs while Cosentino's team-best 15 digs marked her fourth double-double of the season (team high).
Juniors
Madisen Lupica (Buchanon, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) and
Jada Screen (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnett) joined in the Pace attack with nine and eight kills respectively, while
Chelsey James (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) posted a team-high .545 hitting percentage and seven putaways of her own.
Defensively, Cosentino and Jones' dig totals were helped by 10 more from sophomore
Morgan Amos (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron) and nine from senior
Jamie Bittiger (Saylorsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg). James also added a team-high four blocks.
Collectively, the Setters racked up a season-high 14 block assists in just three sets of work.
