BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – Following a first-set victory, the Pace University volleyball team was defeated at Bloomfield College on Saturday by a score of 3-1 (26-24, 24-26, 23-25, 19-25).
Senior
Brielle Jones (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Palm Beach Gardens) led the Setters' offense with her fourth-straight double-digit kill performance. The Florida native's 14 putaways came on a season-best .226 hitting percentage.
Jones also chipped in eight digs while classmate
Jamie Bittiger (Saylorsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) led Pace in that department with 13.
Junior
Jada Screen (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnett) finished second on the Blue and Gold with nine kills on a team-high .263 hitting percentage.
For the fifth consecutive match to begin the season, sophomore
Georgette Cosentino (Scarsdale, N.Y./The Ursuline School) piloted the Setters' passing attack. The Westchester County native dished out a team-best 24 assists, in addition to chipping in nine digs.
Rounding out Pace's top performers were Screen,
Chelsey James (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) and
Madisen Lupica (Buchanon, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) each recording a solo block in the match.
