PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – In a matchup between two of the top teams in the Northeast-10 Conference, the Pace University field hockey squad dropped a 1-0 battle to No. 6 Saint Anselm on Saturday night. The defeat pushes the Setters' record to 3-3 this season, including 0-1 in the NE10.
A back-and-forth dramatic affair was clinched courtesy of a 38
th-minute goal by senior Maggie Malloy.
After the Saint Anselm tally, Pace controlled most of the action but were unable to find an equalizer. Hawks' goalkeeper Mackenzie McConnell made three saves to earn the shutout.
The Blue and Gold finished with more penalty corners (7) and shots-on-goal (3) in the contest.
