Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Pace Women's Soccer Defeated by SCSU, 1-0

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University women's soccer team was dealt its first home loss of the season, a 1-0 blemish to Southern Connecticut State, on Tuesday night. The Setters' record drops to 3-2-2 and 1-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference, while the Owls improve to 4-2 an 2-0 respectively.

It was defensive struggle all the way through, as the first half featured only two shots on goal combined, both belonging to SCSU.

Pace dominated the shooting opportunities, registering 11 total shots, but only two were on goal. The Owls meanwhile made their chances count, as all four of their shots were on goal, including the lone tally of the night.

25 minutes into the second half, senior Julia Alicea took a ball deep in Setters' territory and brought it up field with gumption, finding graduate student Taylor Hennig, who launched a superb pass to sophomore Kylee Slavik for the game-winning score and Hennig's team-leading fourth assist of the year. Slavik played only 23 minutes but managed to notch half of her team's shots (2) and shots on goal (2), while netting her second tally of 2022.

For the first time this season, a Blue and Gold goalkeeper played the entirety of a contest. Sophomore Annabella Cole (Selden, N.Y./St. Anthony's) finished with three saves in 90 minutes of action.

The Setters are on the road for the two consecutive games, starting with a trip to The Codfish State to take on American International College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
