PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Playing for the first time at home this season, the Pace University field hockey team was dealt a 5-0 loss to No. 3 East Stroudsburg on Tuesday afternoon.Â
Â
Despite falling to the highly ranked Warriors, it was a record-setting day for Pace goalkeeper
Alina Buerger (Königs Wusterhausen, Brandenburg, Germany/Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium). The freshman from Germany racked up 18 saves in net—setting a new single-game program high.
Â
It was an evenly distributed effort for Buerger, who tallied nine stops in each half of action.Â
Â
The Setters put seven shots of their own on net as ESU goalkeeper Amy Supey notched her fourth shutout of the season.
Â
Five different goal-scorers led the way for the Warriors. East Stroudsburg is now 4-0 this season, defeating opponents by a total of 16-0.
