PURCHASE, N.Y. – Hitting the road for their second meet of the season, the Pace University cross country teams took part in the Purchase College Invitational on Saturday.
Women's Recap (5th place out of 10 teams)
A pair of top-14 finishers led the way for Pace in a solid showing on Saturday.
Graduate student
Molly Darfler-Sweeney (Tannersville, N.Y./Hunter-Tannersville) piloted the efforts in 10
th place in a time of 23:15.5 while sophomore
Meryl Mizell (Round Rock, Texas/Stony Point) followed closely in 14
th (24:30.9).
Another graduate student,
Jordan Etheridge (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle), followed after the first duo in 31
st-place (28:24.1).
The Blue and Gold's final two scorers were back-to-back finishers at 59
th and 60th.
Rhylie Dietrich (Riverview, Fla./Riverview) posted a time of 35:58.1 while
Samira Bawa (Bronx, N.Y./Metropolitan Lighthouse College Preparatory Academy) recorded a mark of 36:01.3.
Men's Recap (9th Place)
For the second straight week, junior
CJ Defeo (East Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue Medford) served as the men's top scorer. The Long Island native registered a 25
th-place finish in a time of 32:42.8.
Sophomore
Daniel Pacheco (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter Panas) followed Defeo in 41
st place (36:19.9) while senior
Ceasar Lugo (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) posted a 54
th-place effort in a time of 41:25.1.
Pace's other two seniors,
Nicholas Becker (Lynbrook, N.Y./East Rockaway) and
Ryan Murphy (Hawthorne, N.Y./Westlake), rounded out the Setter scoring. Becker vaulted across the finish line in 58
th place (46:56.4) while Murphy secured 60
th in 50:02.6.
