Pace Softball Earns 8-0 Win at Dominican

ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – It was quick road trip for the Pace University softball team on Tuesday as the Setters tallied an 8-0 win over Dominican College in five innings. The victory pushes the Setters' record to 11-8 overall this season.

Pace's decisive win featured yet another impressive performance by freshman pitcher Gisselle Garcia (Lemon Grove, Calif. /Mater Dei Catholic).

The California native yielded just two hits in five scoreless innings. She also finished with five strikeouts as her ERA shifted to just 1.65 across 72.0 frames this season.

Pace's offense assisted Garcia with three runs in the second, followed by a five-spot in the third.

Junior Carolina Iturriaga (North Hills, Calif./Grover Cleveland) led the way at the dish with a 2-for-3, three-RBI afternoon. She also walked once.

Sophomore Sammi Swenson (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown East) joined in with two RBIs on a single to left in the third while Gwen Pederson (Sylmar, Calif./Granada Hills Charter) and Alexa Borino (Lyndhurst, N.J./Lyndhurst) each registered RBI doubles in the game.
