SYRACUSE, N.Y. – On the final day of the 2022 regular season, the Pace University softball team was defeated twice at Le Moyne College on Saturday. The Setters will now enter the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament with an overall record of 27-18 (14-12, NE10).
Pace's bats were unable to get it going on Saturday as they suffered defeats of 1-0 and 4-0.
In the opener, freshman
Gisselle Garcia (Lemon Grove, Calif. /Mater Dei Catholic) pitched extremely well in a losing effort. The rookie right-hander yielded just one run on five hits across six innings.
Garcia is currently ranked third in the NE10 in ERA (1.39) this season, while sitting second in total strikeouts. Garcia's 194 K's are the most in a single season in program history.
After recording a lone single in the first game, Pace tallied five hits and two walks in the finale. The Setters had their chances, finishing with seven runners left on base.
