ALBANY, N.Y. – In the first of two road doubleheaders this weekend to wrap up the regular season, the Pace University softball team (27-16, 14-10 NE10) was defeated twice at Saint Rose on Friday.

Game One – Saint Rose 8, Pace 6
Despite the Setters grabbing a 2-0 lead, it was a pair of four-run innings that led the way for Saint Rose in the opener.

The majority of Pace's offense in Game One was supplied by a pair of two-run home runs.

Freshman
Brianna Shea (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino ) launched her team-leading fourth long ball of the season in the fourth, while classmate
Alexa Borino (Lyndhurst, N.J./Lyndhurst) hammered her first career home run in the fifth.

Senior
NancyAnn Revilla (Staten Island, N.Y./Port Richmond) also notched an RBI single in the game while junior
Gwen Pederson (Sylmar, Calif./Granada Hills Charter) went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Sophomore pitcher
Anna Acevedo (Brooklyn, N.Y./Fontbonne Hall Academy) kept Pace in the game with 2.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen.

Game Two – Saint Rose 3, Pace 0
Mackenzie Garrick (South River, N.J./South River) pitched well for the Setters in a losing effort. The right-hander allowed just two earned runs across six innings of action.

Offensively, Pace totaled seven hits and left nine runners on base. Senior
Zoie Iverson (Oregon City, Ore./Alliance Charter Academy/ Oregon City High School) continued her terrific campaign (team-high .393 batting average) with a 2-for-3 effort at the dish.

Freshman
Jade Alvarado (West Covina, Calif./South Hills) also went 2-for-3 in the contest, while Shea, Pederson and Borino all notched singles.
