WALTHAM, Mass. – Beginning a three-game series at Bentley, the Pace University baseball team (19-17, 9-11 NE10) dropped a 12-8 contest to the Falcons on Friday afternoon.

It was a five-run first inning that set the tone for Bentley. The home team continued their onslaught with four more runs in the fifth and three in the seventh.

Matthew Rinaldi (Scarsdale, N.Y./Eastchester) navigated the Pace offense with a 3-for-5, 4-RBI performance. The junior transfer hit an RBI single in the seventh before launching a three-run home run in the eighth.

Graduate students
Mitchell McCabe (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford/ Bridgton Academy) and
Dean DePreta (Stamford, Conn./Westhill High School) joined in with two hits apiece, while
Josh Miller (Clifton, N.J./Clifton),
Luke Jacobi (Edison, N.J./JP Stevens) and
Mason Baronian (River Vale, N.J./Pascack Valley) all registered RBI singles.
