PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The second to last weekend of the spring semester ushers in a men's lacrosse postseason opener, a women's lacrosse regular-season finale, and seven combined baseball/softball contests, all highlighting the final weekend of April.

The Pace baseball squad (19-16, 9-10) travels to Waltham, Mass, this weekend for a three-game series with the Bentley University Falcons (11-22, 6-12).

The Setters are coming off a 15-7, non-conference, road win versus Mercy on Wednesday.

Pace scored the first eight runs of the game, handing starting pitcher
Patrick Gleason (Valhalla, N.Y./Valhalla) a comfortable lead, which allowed the junior to pick up his fifth win of the season while striking out four batters.

The Blue and Gold were on fire from the plate against Mercy, as five Setters recorded multiple hits, three of which hit safely for hat tricks, including freshmen
Nicholas Montagna (Holmes, N.Y./Carmel) and
Mason Baronian (River Vale, N.J./Pascack Valley).

The other three-hit batter was
Mitchell McCabe (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford/ Bridgton Academy). Fellow graduate student
Luke Jacobi (Edison, N.J./JP Stevens) also performed well, hitting safely twice and batting-in two runs.

Pace softball (27-14, 14-8) will compete in four games over the span of roughly 24 hours when they head to upstate New York to play a doubleheader against Saint Rose (12-29, 8-14) on Friday, and another versus Le Moyne (18-20, 10-12) on Saturday.

Pace is coming off two losses to Georgian Court University.

Starting pitcher
Gisselle Garcia (Lemon Grove, Calif. /Mater Dei Catholic) gave up only four hits in six innings of work in the series opener against the Lions. The freshman has won the NE10 Rookie of the Week award four times concurrently and was also the Pitcher of the Week twice.

Senior
Zoie Iverson (Oregon City, Ore./Alliance Charter Academy/ Oregon City High School) is the reigning NE10 Player of the Week after the infielder hit .522, with three doubles and four RBIs last week. The Oregonian hit safely in all eight of those games, and continued her hot streak against Assumption on Tuesday, recording two hits, four more RBIs, and scored four runs in a sweep of the Greyhounds.

The Pace women's lacrosse team (12-4, 9-3) will look to close out the regular season and head into the NE10 Championship on a season-high five-game winning streak when they travel to Colchester, Vt., to take on Saint Michael's (1-14, 0-12) on Saturday.

The Setters defeated No. 18 Assumption University on Wednesday, 15-9, in their home finale.

Jolie Urraro (Sayville, N.Y./Connetquot) and sophomore
Angelina Porcello (Eastchester, NY/Eastchester) scored five goals apiece, and each also distributed an assist for six total points.

Regardless of the result this weekend, Pace is guaranteed to host an NE10 Championship first round contest. A loss would seed the Setters fourth whereas a victory combined with a Le Moyne loss would put the Blue and Gold in third place.
