PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Fueled by a 12-0 start to the contest, the 15
th-ranked Pace University women's lacrosse team recorded a 22-2 win over AIC on Tuesday night. The decisive triumph pushes the Setters' record to 10-4 this season (7-3, NE10).
Pace's largest victory of the season featured 11 different goal-scorers and a 22-5 advantage in draw controls. The Setters also posted a remarkable 34-4 edge in shots-on-goal.
Four different players (
Avery Gales (Lake Oswego, Ore./Tualatin),
Kayla Conway (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh),
Margaret Flocco (Patterson, NY/Carmel),
Katie Smaldone (Sussex, N.J./Vernon Township)) tallied hat tricks for Pace, while sophomore
Angelina Porcello (Eastchester, NY/Eastchester) led the way with five total points (4G, A).
In addition to three goals scored,
Kayla Conway (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) led the Setters with seven draw controls.
Defensively,
Taylor Rossi (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) posted a team-high four caused turnovers while freshman goalkeeper
Kate Laico (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) earned her seventh win of the season.
