PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Facing a third straight ranked opponent, the No. 12 Pace University women's lacrosse team suffered a 15-13 defeat to 15
th-ranked Stonehill College on Wednesday. The loss moves the Setters' record to 8-4 this season, including 5-3 in the NE10.
In a back-and-forth battle, the Setters were unable to hold onto a pair of three-goal leads in the second half. The Skyhawks answered deficits of 10-7 and 13-10, including a game-ending 5-0 run.
It was a pair of four-goal performances that led Pace's offense against the Skyhawks. Sophomore
Angelina Porcello (Eastchester, NY/Eastchester) and junior
Jolie Urraro (Sayville, N.Y./Connetquot) each found the back of the net on four occasions.
Senior
Aleya Corretjer (Thiells, N.Y./North Rockland) also picked up four points courtesy of three goals and an assist while classmate
Kayla Conway (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) chipped in two tallies and one helper.
Defensively, senior
Julia Burton (Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills Regional) registered a team-high four caused turnovers while
Alexandra Quinn (Eastport, NY/Eastport South Manor) picked up a team-best four ground balls.
