Pace Baseball Earns 9-4 Win at Molloy

UNIONDALE, N.Y. – Fresh off a series win over New Haven, the Pace University baseball team tallied a 9-4 triumph at Molloy College on Wednesday afternoon. The non-conference win pushes the Setters' record to 11-7 this season.

A four-run first inning set the tone during Pace's fourth straight victory. The Setters tacked on another three in the eighth to ultimately put the game on ice.

Pace's top of the lineup dominated Molloy's pitching. The Setters' first five batters totaled 11 hits with five RBIs and nine runs scored.

Mitchell McCabe (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford/ Bridgton Academy) and Luke Jacobi (Edison, N.J./JP Stevens) were especially lethal at a combined 6-for-9 with five RBIs and four runs scored.

McCabe's three-run home run in the eighth inning provided the Blue and Gold with a 9-1 lead.

Pace's first two batters, Matthew Rinaldi (Scarsdale, N.Y./Eastchester) and Andrew Primm (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa), each went 2-for-4 with a combined three runs scored and two walks.

On the other side, the Blue and Gold used five pitchers in the win. Freshman Grant Biederman (Huntington Station, N.Y./Walt Whitman) earned his first career victory following three scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
