GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – In a battle between two of the top teams in the country, the 14
th-ranked Pace University women's lacrosse team dropped an 11-4 matchup at third-ranked Adelphi on Wednesday.
Tied 4-4 at halftime, the Panthers asserted themselves with a 7-0 run across the final 30 minutes of regulation.
Sophomore
Angelina Porcello (Eastchester, NY/Eastchester) put in two of the Setters' goals while
Sydney Juvelier (Centereach, N.Y./Centereach) and
Nikki Mottes (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) also found the back of the net.
Junior
Jolie Urraro (Sayville, N.Y./Connetquot) notched Pace's lone assist on Porcello's second tally in the second quarter.
Sophomore
Ashley Belfiore (Manorville, NY/Eastport South Manor) recorded a career-high eight stops in a full 60 minutes in net. Adelphi's goalkeeper Emma Lemanski also tallied eight saves.
