MANCHESTER, N.H. – Facing NE10 competition for the first time this spring, the Pace University softball team dropped a pair of one-run contests at Southern New Hampshire on Saturday. The Setters now hold a 5-5 record this season.

Game One – SNHU 1, Pace 0 (8 Innings)
Freshman
Gisselle Garcia (Lemon Grove, Calif. /Mater Dei Catholic) pitched sensationally in a losing effort. The rookie posted seven scoreless frames before allowing a walk-off run with two outs in the eighth.Â

Garcia struck out 10 Penmen in 7.2 frames, while lowering her ERA to just 1.30 in 37.2 innings this season. She has tallied more strikeouts (40) than innings pitched.Â

Pace's offense mustered four hits in the opener, while leaving six runners on base.Â

Game Two – SNHU 5, Pace 4
The Setters' offense came alive with eight hits in the finale.Â

Senior
Zoie Iverson (Oregon City, Ore./Alliance Charter Academy/ Oregon City High School) came up with the biggest hit of the day with a two-run home run in the third inning.Â

Sophomores
Jenny Gordon (Colonia, N.J./John F. Kennedy Memorial) and
Alexandra Tejeda (Diamond Bar, Calif./Diamond Bar) each went a team-best 2-for-3 at the dish, while six different Setters registered at least one hit.Â

Sophomore pitcher
Anna Acevedo (Brooklyn, N.Y./Fontbonne Hall Academy) recorded three scoreless innings out of the bullpen.Â
