PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Continuing a stretch of six games in six days, the Pace University baseball team was defeated, 10-8, at the University of the Sciences on Friday afternoon. The loss shifts the Setters' record to 5-5 this season.

The Setters did all they could to pull off a massive comeback in the ninth inning. Trailing by six runs, Pace registered two hits and a walk before Luke Jacobi (Edison, N.J./JP Stevens) hammered a two-out grand slam to cut the final deficit to 10-8.

Jacobi, who also registered two other hits with three runs scored on Friday, has now tallied his first two career home runs this season while leading the team with 11 RBIs.

Pace also plated a pair of runs in the top of the eighth to cut the USciences' lead to 6-4 before a four-run bottom-half from the Devils broke the game open.

Joining Jacobi with multiple hits on Friday was Dean DePreta (Stamford, Conn./Westhill High School) and Johnny Guarantano (Nottingham, Md./RJ Reynolds High School). DePreta went 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Guarantano when 2-for-4 with an RBI single in the eighth.
