NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Playing the first of three conference games across a six-day span, the Pace University women's basketball team dropped a 62-44 contest at Southern Connecticut State on Tuesday night. The loss snaps a Setters' three-game winning streak, while moving their record to 17-5 this season (11-4, NE10).
The Blue and Gold shot just 18-of-61 from the field (29.5%), including a 1-for-17 effort from three-point range.
The Setters totaled five points in the third quarter as SCSU turned an eight-point halftime edge into a game-high 21-point lead early in the fourth quarter.
Graduate forward
Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) led Pace with 15 points and eight rebounds in the game, while senior
Lauren Hackett (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's) finished with 10 points, four boards and two assists.
Sophomore
Katumina Mansaray (Ontario, Canada/Cardinal Newman Secondary School/Tilton School) added eight points and two steals.
Senior guard
Brianna Wong (River Vale, N.J./Pascack Valley) made her season debut for the Setters. The New Jersey native tallied two points and a steal in eight minutes of action.
