PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – After leading the Setters to a perfect 3-0 record last week,
Matt Healing of the Pace University men's basketball team has been selected as the
HoopDirt.com National Coach of the Week.
Coach Healing's squad made the most of an extremely busy stretch. The Blue and Gold tallied wins over Le Moyne (68-67), New Haven (77-48) and Saint Rose (73-56) across a six-day span.
The Setters' latest win streak puts their record at 14-8 overall, and 10-5 in the Northeast-10 Conference. 11 of Pace's 14 wins have been by double digits, while four of their losses have come by four points or less.
Coach Healing has the Setters playing stellar defense so far this season. Across 15 NE10 games, Pace is allowing the second-fewest points in the league at 68.3 per contest.
Conference foes are also shooting a league-worst 40.3 percent from the field against the Setters. Pace ranks second in the NE10 in steals per game (7.0) as well.
The Blue and Gold will look to keep the momentum rolling on Thursday night (Feb. 11) when they visit SCSU at 7 p.m.
