Pace Women's Basketball Earns 70-62 Win at Saint Rose

ALBANY, N.Y. – Highlighted by another career afternoon from Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School), the Pace University women's basketball team picked up a 70-62 win at The College of Saint Rose on Saturday. The Setters' third consecutive victory pushes their record to 17-4 this season, including a mark of 11-3 in the NE10.

Schetter's career-high 33-point performance on Saturday featured a sensational fourth quarter. The team captain tallied 18 points across the final 10 minutes, including a personal 9-0 run to begin the quarter.

It was an old-fashioned three-point play by Schetter, followed by a pair of technical free throws, that ultimately clinched the win for Pace.

The Setters were up by just two points before a five-point possession from Schetter provided the visitors a seven-point edge with 1:12 left in regulation.

Schetter supplemented her game-high scoring output with team-highs in both rebounds (6) and steals (4).

Classmate Naya Rivera (Pomona, N.Y./North Rockland) and senior Lauren Hackett (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's) joined Schetter in double figures with 10 points apiece. Hackett also led the Blue and Gold with six assists.

The Setters trailed Saint Rose heading into the fourth quarter before erupting for 30 points across the final 10 minutes of action.

Pace's final frame featured a 10-for-16 effort from the field, and a 9-of-11 clip from the free-throw line. All in all, the Setters made 14 of their 17 attempts from the charity stripe.

Following Saturday's triumph, Pace now has two more wins than any other team in the NE10. The Setters' 17 victories are also currently the second-most in the East Region.
