PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – After extending their win streak to four games last week, the Pace University men's basketball team moved up to eighth in the latest D2SIDA East Region Poll.
The Setters were victorious in their lone action last week courtesy of a 77-50 triumph at SCSU. Pace now stands at 15-8 overall this season, including a record of 11-5 in the Northeast-10 Conference.
The Blue and Gold once again had five players score in double figures against the Owls. The Setters' balance has played a large role in their success this season. Â
Three players are currently averaging more than 12 points per game, while a total of six Setters are tallying at least 7.7 points per outing.
Bryan Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Canterbury School) currently leads the Setters in scoring (14.9 ppg), while
Brandon Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Pine Bush) (13.1 ppg) and
Brandon Jacobs (Cambria Heights, N.Y./Long Island Lutheran) (12.1 ppg) are nipping at his heels.
Powell serves as Pace's top rebounder (6.0 rpg) as well, while Jacobs is dishing out a team-high 5.6 assists per contest.
In addition to the versatility of Pace's offense, the Setters have also been incredibly efficient. Coach Healing's squad ranks first in the NE10 in field-goal percentage (47.2%) in conference games this season.
Also in conference play, the Setters are tops in the league in assists per game (15.9) and second in three-point percentage (38.9%).
The Pace men's basketball team returns to action on Wednesday night against Adelphi (7 p.m.).
