Frankyn Batista (Barahona, Dominican Republic/Hyde / AIC) recorded a double-double with 16 points and 18 rebounds. Scoring was led by senior
Brandon Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Pine Bush / FDU) who netted 19 points and shot 4-of-9 from beyond the arc.
The three other Pace starters had 16 from senior forward
Bryan Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Canterbury School), 14 from junior guard
Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass./Tech Boston / Southern Connecticut State) and 10 from freshman guard
Jabari Nurse (Randolph, Mass./New Hampton Prep).
With the win, the Setters advance to 7-3 overall.
As a team, Pace shot 47.6 percent from the field. The Blue and Gold's biggest lead was 21 points. At the half, Pace led 41-27.
Opposite Pace, Bridgeport earned 29 points from the bench.
Bridgeport was led by guard Matt Turner with 18 points.
Next up, Pace will travel to Felician on Tuesday for an 8 p.m. contest. First tip is slate for 8 p.m.
