PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Despite four Setters recording double-digit scoring efforts, the Pace Women's Basketball squad fell short of a victory against Southern New Hampshire University, 77-66, at Goldstein Fitness Center on Saturday afternoon.
Grad guard
Lauren Hackett (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's) led Pace with 14 points. Junior guard
Shanice Sinclair (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman), sophomore forward/center
Tower Lorde (Saint Michael, Barbados/The St. Michael School) and freshman guard
Morgan Ryan (Plainfield, N.J./Rutgers Prep) each netted 10. Lorde also pulled down nine rebounds.
The Setters got off to a tough start in the first period and were behind 22-12. But in the second quarter, Pace and SNHU were evenly matched, scoring 14 each.
The Blue and Gold kept it close in the third quarter, cutting the lead to nine, 42-33, after a three-pointer from Ryan with 6:58 left.
Pace won the fourth quarter, 20-17, but couldn't overcome the first period deficit.
With the loss, Pace falls to 1-6 overall, 0-3 in NE10 action. SNHU advances to 4-2, 3-1 in the NE10.
Pace returns to action on Tuesday, Dec. 3 for a 5:30 p.m. match against Bentley.
