NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Pace men's basketball team lost 59-52 in a close game at Southern Connecticut State University on Wednesday night at the James W. Moore Fieldhouse.
Setter senior
Bryan Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Canterbury School) led the Blue and Gold with 16 points while adding five rebounds. His brother,
Brandon Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Pine Bush / FDU), added 10 points as well as five rebounds and three assists.
Grad forward
Marc Dadika (Saddle Brook, N.J./Saint Mary's Rutherford / FDU) led Pace with seven rebounds.
Pace (5-2, 1-2 NE10) led at the half 24-20 and led by as many as 12 with 13:01 left to play. SCSU (3-3. 1-1 NE10) steadily worked to take over the lead with under four minutes in the game. A 3-pointer by
Bryan Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Canterbury School) tied it at 52-52, but the Owls held the Setters scoreless for the remainder of the contest.
Next up, Pace will host Southern New Hampshire University in a 3:30 p.m. game on Saturday, Dec. 3 at Goldstein Fitness Center. The game will be the second of a women's and men's doubleheader.
