QUEENS, N.Y. – In their season-opening contest, the Pace University men's basketball team defeated Molloy University, 71-55, in the first game of the annual tip-off "Conference Challenge."

Picking up on last year's trend, the Setters were guided by the Middletown, N.Y., Powell twin brothers. Graduate forward Bryan and senior guard Brandon combined for 29 points, eight rebounds, eight blocks, and six steals.

Pace (1-0) boasted three additional near double-digit scorers in junior guard
Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass./Tech Boston / Southern Connecticut State) (nine points, 11 rebounds, six assists), graduate forward
Marc Dadika (Saddle Brook, N.J./Saint Mary's Rutherford / FDU) (nine points, six rebounds) and freshman guard
Jabari Nurse (Randolph, Mass./New Hampton Prep) (nine points, three rebounds).

The Blue and Gold out-rebounded Molloy, 37-28, out-assisted the Lions 14-8, out-blocked them 9-2, and turned one less ball over.
