WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Facing the top team currently atop the NE10 standings, the Pace University football team dropped a 35-7 contest at New Haven on Saturday. The loss shifts the Setters' record to 3-3 this season, including a mark of 1-2 inside the NE10.
The Blue and Gold's lone touchdown came with 3:56 left in the contest.
Carlton Aiken (Gibbstown, N.J./Paulsboro), who recently became Pace's all-time leader in passing touchdowns, connected with
Teddy Harper (East Orange, N.J./Depaul Catholic) on an 11-yard score.
Harper finished the game with six catches for 42 yards while
Cerrome Hill (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) led Pace's wide outs with four receptions for 60 yards.
In addition to the touchdown toss, Aiken served as the Setters' top offensive performer courtesy of totaling 178 passing yards and 43 rushing yards.
Defensively,
Nasier Givens (Newark, N.J./Orange) led the Blue and Gold with seven tackles and a half-sack.
