Pace Football Scores 45 in Homecoming Win over AIC

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Fueled by a monstrous rushing attack, the Pace University football team posted a 45-34 win over AIC on Saturday afternoon. The victory pushes the Setters' record to 4-3 this season, including 2-2 inside the Northeast-10 Conference.

Led by a 122-yard performance by Homecoming MVP, Carlton Aiken (Gibbstown, N.J./Paulsboro), the Blue and Gold racked up more than 300 yards of rushing against the Yellow Jackets. Aiken also added 250 yards through the air, while tallying four total touchdowns.

Aiken is now ranked inside the top-four of the NE10 in both rushing and passing this season, while leading the league with 17 total touchdowns.

Pace's three passing touchdowns were nabbed by Dominic Nicolo (Yonkers, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac), Cerrome Hill (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) and Ramir Tann-Davis (Paterson, N.J./Paterson Eastside). Nicolo finished the game with team and career-highs of 10 catches for 96 yards.

The Setters' rushing attack featured nine different players getting carries. Sophomore Christopher McGuire (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) and graduate student Casey Fernandez (Carver, Mass./Carver) each averaged over five yards per attempt, with Fernandez recording a 10-yard touchdown scamper in the fourth quarter.

Defensively, Nasier Givens (Newark, N.J./Orange) was a menace for Pace. The team captain finished with two sacks, three tackles-for-loss and a forced fumble. Givens is now slotted third in the NE10 in sacks this season (5).

Givens' fellow captain, Dustin Huseinovic (Harrison, N.J./Harrison), turned AIC over in the second quarter with his fifth career interception.

Saturday marked the second game in just three weeks that the Setters have scored 45 points in a win.
