PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Fueled by a season-high hitting percentage, the Pace University volleyball team posted a 3-0 sweep of Assumption on Tuesday night.
Led by a balanced attack, it was the Setters hitting a season-best .368 against the Greyhounds. Pace had five players finish with at least six kills while five different Setters registered at least one ace.
Senior
Brielle Jones (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Palm Beach Gardens) led the way with 14 kills while junior
Cydney Gardner (Snellville, Ga./Brookwood) was also in double figures with 10 putaways. Jones finished with just four total errors and a .400 hitting percentage.
Graduate student
Chelsey James (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) added nine kills while
Jada Screen (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnett) and
Daniella Abbastante (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) registered respective totals of seven and six putaways.
Sophomore
Georgette Cosentino (Scarsdale, N.Y./The Ursuline School) engineered the offense with another 39 assists. She continues to rank third in the NE10 in assists per set this season (8.84).
Defensively,
Jamie Bittiger (Saylorsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) racked up a team-high 11 digs while Abbastante led Pace with five blocks.
