Box Score Pleasantville, N.Y. – It was an exciting afternoon at the Goldstein Fitness Center as Pace volleyball and Franklin Pierce went to five sets. The Setters were just edged by the Ravens in the final set (23-25, 25-19, 26-24, 26-28, 14-16).
Senior outside hitter
Brielle Jones (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Palm Beach Gardens) recorded a double-double in the match with a match-best 24 kills and 11 digs. Jones accounted for 25.5 points. Junior outside hitter Cydney Gardener hit for .263 percent with 19 kills. Sophomore middle blocker
Daniella Abbastante (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) also posted double-digit kills with 12.
Senior defensive specialist/libero
Jamie Bittiger (Saylorsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) had a Setter-best 24 digs.
Sophomore Setter
Georgette Cosentino (Scarsdale, N.Y./The Ursuline School) had 60 assists. Cosentino also had two aces and hit for .429.
For Franklin Pierce, the Ravens were led by Annaka Lindstrom with 14 kills. Martina Spackova had 10 blocks.
With the loss, Pace's record falls to 5-17, 3-7 in the NE10. Franklin Pierce advances to 8-12, 3-7 in the league.
Pace volleyball will play its third match this week on Sunday against Southern New Hampshire University. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Goldstein Fitness Center and will be the final home match of the season. The Setters will celebrate the accomplishments of their four seniors:
