Springfield, Mass. – Behind four points (1G, 2A) from sophomore midfielder Noëlle Meij, the Pace field hockey team shutout American International College, 3-0, on Tuesday night at Abdow Field.
Meij scored the eventual game-winner in the 19th minute, on the assist from sophomore midfielder/forward
Krista Dietz (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac). Dietz and Meij paired up for the security goal eight seconds later, this time Meij was credited for the helper.
All three goals were scored in the second period, with junior defender
Kate Demars (Huntington Beach, Calif./Edison) scoring off Meij in the 25th minute.
With the victory, Pace's record evened at 7-7 with a 4-5 NE10 record. AIC falls to 2-12, 1-8 in league play.
The Setters dominated offensively, outshooting the Yellow Jackets, 17-5 (6-1 SOG). Pace was also awarded 11 penalty corners to AIC's three.
Meij has five goals on the season so far with five assists and 15 points. Dietz leads the team with 16 points (5G, 6A).

Alina Buerger (Königs Wusterhausen, Brandenburg, Germany/Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium) recorded her third shutout of the year.
The Setters are back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. as Pace hosts Southern Connecticut State University Camper Reunion/Youth Day at Finnerty Field.
