PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – In hard fought back-and-forth encounter, the Pace University field hockey team (6-7, 3-5 NE10) fell 1-0 to the Bentley Falcons (7-6, 5-3 NE10) on Saturday at Peter X. Finnerty Field.

Saturday was the Setters' eighth game in the last nine to be decided by one goal.

The lone tally came off the stick of Bentley junior Katie Thies who scored the game-winner with her only shot of the game in the final minute of the third period. Theis Bentley in scoring with five on the season.

In the first half, Pace held the Falcons to two shots on goal despite four penalty corner attempts.

The Setters offense heated up after the intermission, as Pace outshot the Falcons 6:4 in the second half, with a 4:1 edge in corners, but could not put one through goalkeeper Mia Trottie who saved three shots in her fourth win of the season.

Alina Buerger (Königs Wusterhausen, Brandenburg, Germany/Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium) made four saves in net.

Setters sophomore midfielder Noelle Meij had a team-best two shots for Pace.

With five games left in the regular season, Pace will look to get back in the win column with a trip to American International College (2-11, 1-7 NE10) on Tuesday, Oct. 25. The Yellow Jackets have lost their last seven games, after defeating Molloy in their conference-opener.
