PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Coming off seven straight one-goal games, the Pace University field hockey team erupted for a 6-1 win over Molloy on Wednesday night. The decisive triumph pushes the Setters' record to 6-6 this season, including 3-4 in the NE10.
Five different goal-scorers piloted the Blue and Gold against the Lions, including four tallies posted in the second half.
Senior
Jessica Wolfe (Halfmoon, N.Y./Shenendehowa) and sophomore Noelle Meij each found the back of the net across the opening two quarters.
Wolfe put one in just 1:57 into the contest while Meij notched her fourth goal of the season in the 17
th minute.
The Setters piled it on after halftime.
Freshman
Isabella Boertjes (Bussum, Noord-Holland, Netherlands/Vituscollege) gave Pace a 3-0 edge with her first career goal in the 36
th minute. The Netherlands native also notched her first-ever assist in the game.
More first career goals were recorded by senior
Eliza Stevens (Brewster, Mass./Nauset Regional), whose back-to-back tallies lifted Pace to a 5-0 edge early in the fourth quarter.
Sophomore
Krista Dietz (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) capped off the Pace onslaught with her 24th career goal in the 56
th minute. She is currently ranked ninth in the NE10 this season in total points (13).
