PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - The Pace University Women's soccer team picked up a point following a 1-1 draw against Assumption on Saturday night's Senior Day homecoming weekend finale.
The Setters improve to 2-6-1 in the NE10 and 4-7-3 overall. The Greyhound records now stands at 3-4-2 in the conference and 4-4-5 overall.
The Blue & Gold dominated the action from the onset, outshooting Assumption 17-4 with an 11-3 edge in corner kicks. The Setters took the lead in the 18th minute when freshman
Ava Viebrock (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./John Jay Senior) scored her sixth tally of the season.
Despite the advantage in shots, Pace would not score again on sophomore Julia Walsh who finished with 10 saves for the Greyhounds, single-handedly keeping her squad in the game, setting the stage for an equalizer in the 72nd minute when Morgan Paquin assisted on an Ashley Wenzel goal.
The Setters will next play at Saint Rose on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
