PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Playing against their third NE10 opponent in a five-day span, the Pace University men's basketball team was defeated by Southern New Hampshire on Saturday by a score of 101-81. The loss shifts the Setters' record to 11-8 this season, including 7-5 inside the NE10.
The Blue and Gold had four players in double figures on Saturday, led by an 18-point night from junior guard
Brandon Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Pine Bush). Powell also hauled in six rebounds.
Graduate guard
Brandon Jacobs (Cambria Heights, N.Y./Long Island Lutheran) followed with a 16-point performance, while
Marc Dadika (Saddle Brook, N.J./Saint Mary's Rutherford) and
Bryan Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Canterbury School) registered 14 and 12 points respectively. Powell also served as the Setters' top rebounder with seven boards.
Austin Gilbertson (Etters, Pa./Trinity) led Pace in assists with five, in addition to tallying seven points and three rebounds.
In total, the Blue and Gold shot 27-of-63 (42.9%) from the field and 10-for-28 (35.7%) from long range. The Setters also finished 17-for-22 (77.3%) on free-throw attempts.
The Penmen's offense featured a 34-for-40 effort from the charity stripe and a 13-of-23 performance from three-point range.
