PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Following standout performances last week,
Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) of the Pace University women's basketball team and
Bryan Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Canterbury School) of the men's squad have been selected as the Setters of the Week, presented by NewYork-Presbyterian, for the week ending January 23, 2022.
Schetter was once again the driving force in a pair of Pace victories last week. The graduate forward, who currently leads the NE10 in scoring this season (21.7 ppg), averaged 22.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in wins over Assumption and Saint Michael's. Schetter was especially dominant on Saturday when she poured in a career-high 31 points against the Purple Knights. She also added seven rebounds, two assists and two steals as the Setters improved their record to 14-2 this season.
Powell led the way for the Setters during a 1-1 stretch last week. The junior forward registered averages of 17.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists to continue his terrific 2021-22 season. Powell put forth one of the best games in his career in Pace's win over Stonehill with 27 points, eight rebounds, and two assists. He continues to lead the Setters in scoring this season at 15.7 points per outing.
