WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Wrapping up an opening weekend tournament at the University of New Haven, the Pace University women's soccer team registered a 2-0 non-conference win over Post on Sunday night. The Setters improve to 2-0 this season, having previously defeated Georgian Court on Thursday night.
It was a dominant effort for the Blue and Gold against Post. Pace didn't allow a single shot on goal across the 90 minutes, while putting together a 10-3 advantage in total shots.
The Setters controlled the majority of possession, posting a 6-3 edge in corner kicks as well.
Senior
Carolina Ivanov (Ipswich, Mass./Ipswich) put Pace ahead with her first career goal in the 22
nd minute of the contest. Freshman
Gina Maucere (Deer Park, N.Y./Saint Anthony's) earned the assist on the play to pick up her first career point.
Another freshman,
Allison Carr (Plantsville, Conn./Southington), provided the Blue and Gold's second goal of the game in the 63
rd minute.
